Flight back to Baku. Meet & greet.
Drive to Gobustan (40–50 minutes from Baku). The Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is home to more than 6,000 ancient petroglyphs dating back up to 40,000 years.
Visit the modern Gobustan Museum with interactive screens and multimedia displays.
Nearby are the famous Mud Volcanoes. Azerbaijan hosts 350 of the world’s 800 mud volcanoes. One of them is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest in the world. (Visit depends on weather conditions.)
On the way back to Baku, stop at Bibi-Heybat Mosque, originally built in the 13th century and reconstructed in the late 20th century. It includes the shrine of Ukayma Khanum, a descendant of Prophet Muhammad, and is an important Islamic architectural monument.
